Haley Training & Development

Business History
Haley Training & Development started in 2023 when Phyllis MacIntyre combined her strong business foundation and seventeen years of university teaching to launch her training company. Haley Training & Development emerged from the desire to re-enter management consulting and apply her recent experience in the business context.
She is passionate about developing leaders through facilitation, coaching, learning design and publication. She pursued formal education to be an Industrial Engineer, is trained in Executive Coaching, a MBA, and most recently, a doctorate in instructional design. Early in her career she moved from engineering to human resource management and strategic planning and retains her professional designations as a Canadian Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) as well as a Professional Engineer. Her extensive experience in transportation, energy, and university education reflects a curiosity about how people learn and what business owners can do to enhance the growth and development of their employees.
Since 2012, she researched and published on leadership topics and remains actively engaged with business journal editors to review and recommend articles for publication. She combines a love of writing with a desire to strengthen the inclusive nature of Canadian business and STEM communities. With her unique background in business and education, she designs ways of learning leadership that embrace face-to-face, online, and blended experiences. A consistent theme of her work and research is leading change because businesses must adapt constantly to the complexity and ambiguity of their markets. Leadership capacity is essential to adaptation because leaders inspire others to change and move toward uncertain futures. The importance and consequences of leadership are evident in business news stories, and they alert us to the need for better preparation for disruptions.
Haley Training & Development partners with business owners to navigate their future by building capacity through leadership development.
